Moving on.....
Recently had time to use NodeJS with some MQTT sprinkled in.
I also came across a blog that describes how to setup Notepad++ to use NodeJs.

For a while I have mostly posted about web app development and not just netbeans.
So from today my blog will be entitled "Neils Dev Stuff".

From a web developers perspective my favourite features are the new re-factoring and CSS3 support.
For me NetBeans 7.1, EXTJS, PACKTAG and DWR are all you need to build good one page web apps.
Although not part of the release the new JSLINT plugin is really good, running JavaScript&Neil's Dev Stuffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07060507855006323465noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7523652367791806363.post-34279004531398889222011-10-08T13:07:00.000+01:002011-10-08T13:07:45.714+01:00NetBeans 7.1 Beta releasedI took NetBeans 7.1 beta for a spin, feels faster and stable.

There is a dependency on Geronimo version 2.0.2 which is still available from Apache archives, however there has been several security fixes since this release.

I was disappointed with the NB7 beta releases which were pretty much unusable due to crashing. NB7 RC1 is much more stable and polished and does seem a whole lot more responsive.
Web improvements seem to have been put on the back burner apart from PHP, HTML5 support and new versions of Glassfish. &Neil's Dev Stuffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07060507855006323465noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7523652367791806363.post-32160735802627530832010-06-17T20:29:00.000+01:002010-06-17T20:29:44.421+01:00Smart phone apps with netbeansSo who wants to develop for smart phones, you do well you need to know about this.

Still no Apache Geronimo support though, shame.
